The guide
Which Christmas it is counting to
The clock counts down to midnight on December 25 in your own time zone, using the time on the device you are looking at it on. Someone in London and someone in Chicago will see different numbers, and both are right.
On Christmas Day it stops counting and says so. From December 26 it starts again toward next Christmas, so the page is never stuck on zero.
The dates under the clock
The list below the countdown is the part that helps with planning. Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving, which is the fourth Thursday in November, and Cyber Monday is three days later. In 2026 that is November 27 and November 30.
December 1 is marked as tree-up day, the date most households use as the start of the season. December 18 is marked as the last safe day to ship, which is a sensible rule of thumb for standard shipping in the US. Carriers publish their exact holiday cutoffs each fall, so check theirs for anything urgent.
Christmas Day 2026 falls on a Friday, which makes Christmas Eve a Thursday and gives most people a long weekend.
Putting the countdown on your own site
Below the clock there is a one-line code snippet you can copy and paste into any website, blog, or school page. It shows a live countdown that updates itself every year, with nothing to install and no account.
If you want it to match your site's colors, the widget page has three themes: default, light, and dark.
