Welcome to Holiday Home Ideas. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of holidayhomeideas.com(the "Site") and any services we provide. By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site.

Holiday Home Ideas is operated as an independent publisher ("we," "us," "our").

What we offer

The Site provides decorating guides, free interactive tools (calculators, quizzes, planners), and a guide to Christmas traditions around the world. We're also building an AI-powered home decoration product launching in fall 2026; access to that product, when available, may be subject to additional terms.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Site (16 if you are in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom). By using the Site, you represent that you meet this requirement.

Information is general guidance, not professional advice

Our content, calculators, quizzes, and other tools are provided for general informational and inspirational purposes. They are not professional design, electrical, structural, or financial advice. We are not licensed designers, electricians, contractors, or financial advisors.

• The Christmas Light Calculator gives estimates based on industry rules of thumb. Always consult a qualified electrician for any installation involving wiring, circuits, or outdoor power.
• Decorating ideas are inspiration, not engineering plans. Use common sense and follow safety guidance from product manufacturers.
• Budget benchmarks are averages; your actual costs will vary.

You are responsible for any decisions you make based on information from the Site. We make no warranty that the information is accurate, complete, current, or suited to your specific situation.

Intellectual property

All content on the Site, including articles, tool logic, underlying code, design, branding, and original images, is owned by Holiday Home Ideas or used under license. You may:

• Read, save, and share links to articles for personal use.
• Use the tools as intended, including saving your own results.
• Quote short excerpts in social posts, blog posts, or publications, with proper attribution and a link back to the source.

You may not:

• Republish entire articles or substantial portions.
• Use our content to train machine learning models.

Photos used on the Site are either licensed from photo sources (Unsplash, Pexels, Pixabay, or directly licensed) or originally produced by us. Each photo's license terms govern its permissible use.

User conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the Site for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
• Submit fraudulent, misleading, or abusive information through our forms.
• Attempt to access, scrape, or interfere with the Site or its underlying systems beyond intended use.
• Submit malicious code, attempt SQL injection, or otherwise attempt to harm the Site.
• Use the Site or any service provided to spam, harass, or harm others.
• Misrepresent your identity or affiliation when contacting us.

We reserve the right to block IP addresses, restrict access, or terminate access for any user who violates these Terms.

Affiliate links and product recommendations

The Site may contain affiliate links. When you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. This does not affect the price you pay, and we only recommend products we believe are useful.

Our editorial recommendations are based on research and independent judgment. Affiliate revenue does not change which products we feature; it just helps support the content.

Third-party services

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Holiday Home Ideas and its operators, contributors, and service providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages, including without limitation lost profits, loss of data, business interruption, or property damage, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Site, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the Site is limited to one hundred US dollars ($100).

Some jurisdictions don't allow limitations on certain damages, in which case those limitations may not apply to you.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Holiday Home Ideas and its operators from any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the Site, or your violation of any rights of another party.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site at any time, for any reason, including for violation of these Terms. You may stop using the Site at any time. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination, including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification, will survive.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Site will be resolved through good-faith informal discussion first. If we can't resolve it informally, the dispute will be resolved in the federal or state courts located in the United States.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll post the updated version on this page and revise the "Last updated" date. For material changes, we'll provide reasonable notice (for example, an announcement on the homepage or an email to subscribers). Continued use of the Site after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Severability and entire agreement

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Holiday Home Ideas regarding the Site.
