The guide
The six styles, in a sentence each
Classic Traditional is red, green, and gold done with confidence: velvet, brass, and a tree that looks like the one in the movies. Modern Minimalist is fewer, better things, with a lot of empty mantel left on purpose. Scandinavian Hygge is warm wood, white linen, paper stars, and candlelight.
Coastal Christmas trades red for white and sea-glass blue, with driftwood and just enough shells. Modern Glam is metallics, mirrors, and mercury glass that catches the light. Rustic Farmhouse is burlap, plaid, and mason jars, done with a lighter hand than the craft store version.
How the quiz decides
There are eight questions, from the colors on your tree to the one word you would use for your ideal Christmas. Every answer adds points to one or two of the six styles, so a burlap-and-plaid mantel counts toward Rustic Farmhouse and a little toward Classic Traditional. Whichever style has the most points at the end is your result.
If two styles tie, the result goes to the one that works in more homes. That is why a tie between Classic Traditional and Modern Glam comes out Traditional: it is the easier look to build on.
What to do with your result
Your result comes with its palette, a handful of signature moves, and the guides on this site that go deeper. Start with one room, usually the one guests see first, and use the signature moves there before touching anything else.
If you found yourself torn between two answers on most questions, you are probably a blend, which is normal. Use your result for the palette and borrow the materials from the style you nearly picked. A Scandinavian palette with a few farmhouse textures is a real look, not a mistake.
